Is Sexual Assault Preventing You from Living a Meaningful Life?

Have you survived a sexual assault that happened long ago or even more recently?

Are you experiencing flashbacks or nightmares of the incident?

Do you go over it and over it in your mind, trying to determine what you could have done differently to stop it or prevent it?

Do you blame yourself? Feeling like it was somehow your fault.

Perhaps you feel guilt or shame about what happened.

Maybe the assault affected your self-esteem or self-confidence.

Is it difficult to form close relationships because it’s hard to trust?

Possibly, you feel numb or disconnected from yourself and others.

Do you often feel anxious, depressed or hopeless?

Has your life become rigid and small to avoid the things that may trigger your emotions?

Does your life lack happiness because it is safer to be numb?

You are Not Alone

National statistics show that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. Coping with the aftermath of a sexual assault can be difficult whether it was a single event or happened repeatedly. Sexual assault can result in emotional reactions and behaviors that are unwanted. It is common for survivors to experience anxiety, depression and hopelessness. The good news is that you can heal from sexual assault. Sexual Assault Therapy has been shown to be effective, healing and enduring.

I Don’t Have the Time or Money to Go to Counseling...

Rapid Resolution Therapy, which addresses sexual assault, is considered brief therapy and takes place in 2 to 6 sessions. So you won’t be going to counseling for very long to resolve what troubles you. RRT is gentle and healing. Think about how phenomenal your life could be if you no longer struggled with thoughts and feelings about the assault.

Will I Have to Relive the Sexual Abuse to Heal?

RRT is different than most counseling. You will not have to retell your story in detail or relive it. Living through it once was enough, you will not need to go through it a second time. RRT heals the mind by releasing the emotional pain so that it no longer plays a part in your day to day life.

What Would Therapy for Sexual Abuse Be Like?

1st Session (Intake Session) – 55 minutes

You will be welcomed to the safety and comfort of my office. Together we cover confidentiality, HIPAA and all necessary forms. We will schedule the RRT session.

2nd Session– 2 to 2.5 hours

Together we will step through the process of Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) /Memory Reconsolidation. I will guide you through the process all you have to do is follow along. I will engage you with stories, metaphors and symbolic imagery about how the mind works. As you learn about the mind through these stories without even noticing, you have begun to heal.

How Effective is RRT?

Recent neuroscience research supports the effectiveness of Memory Reconsolidation which is used in the RRT process and why it works. Research has shown it to be effective and enduring. I have helped many clients move beyond sexual assault to calm, peace and clarity.

What Kind of Results Should I Expect?

I have helped many clients move beyond sexual assault to recognize that it was not your fault, you did nothing to cause it. It was something that happened to you it is not part of you. You have survived the most difficult part all on your own. Now what is left for us to do, is clear your mind of what happened. You will remember what happened however the emotional pain that accompanied the memory will no longer be activated.

You will feel empowered so that you can live your life. Your experience will be one of cleansing, clearing and an incredible lightness. As your pain lessens you feel happier, calmer, and at peace. Depression lifts. Anxiety fades. You will experience more energy that you will be able to focus on the things that you love.

Life will be better without reoccurring thoughts about the sexual assault.

I invite you to set up a complimentary 30 minute phone consult,  I can answer all your questions.

“I had an extremely traumatic experience and for the 10 years that followed, it loomed over me like a dark cloud. When a friend told me about RRT/Memory Reconsolidation, I thought it sounded too good to be true. To my surprise, it was brief and painless. I have my life back! My only regret is that I waited so long.”

“As a clinician, I am confident and comfortable referring clients to Cathy, especially for her fine tuned skills in RRT. She brings compassion for clients and quality to the work she does with traumatic experiences. I have known Cathy for several years and know that when I send someone to her, that she is equally kind, caring, and respectful. ”
